I've been calling it the "Peak-a-boo Factor" all this time. Thanks for the link, I'm new to Helnweins work.
I'm new to Helnwein's work as well... I had snipped the Burroughs quotation some time ago, but I had never checked the source essay. Yay for teh Google!
